Chất lượng của nguồn nguyên liệu dầu thô cấp cho Nhà máy Lọc Dầu Dung Quất ở Việt Nam cũng đã thay đổi rất nhiều so với thiết kế ban đầu, đặc biệt là hàm lượng lưu huỳnh tăng cao, phân xưởng xử lý lưu huỳnh phân đoạn LCO (Linght Cycle Oil) sẽ bị ảnh hưởng rất lớn. Việc đánh giá các thông số chất lượng, điều kiện vận hành tối ưu của phân xưởng HDS-LCO trước khi đưa vào áp dụng thực tế là bài toán cấp thiết đặt ra.
