1. Tính cấp thiết của đề tài
Mục tiêu mà Đảng và Nhà nước ta đặt ra cho đến năm 2020 là phải hoàn thành nhiệm vụ công nghiệp hoá - hiện đại hoá đất nước đưa Việt Nam từ một nước nông nghiệp trở thành một nước công nghiệp tiên tiến.
Để thực hiện được mục tiêu này thì vốn là một trong những yếu tố rất quan trọng, là tiền đề cho sự tăng trưởng kinh tế. Mức tăng trưởng kinh tế phụ thuộc vào qui mô và hiệu quả sử dụng vốn. Vốn cho đầu tư phát triển có thể được tạo thành từ nhiều nguồn, tuy nhiên trong điều kiện thị trường tài chính nước ta đang trong giai đoạn bước đầu hình thành và phát triển thì huy động vốn qua kênh ngân hàng vẫn là phổ biến và hiệu quả nhất.
Ngân hàng thương mại là một doanh nghiệp đặc biệt chuyên kinh doanh tiền tệ, hoạt động kinh doanh của ngân hàng thương mại vừa với danh nghĩa là một tổ chức hạch toán kinh tế - kinh doanh, vừa với vai trò trung gian tài chính. Với vai trò trung gian tài chính, Ngân hàng thương mại tập trung mọi nguồn vốn tạm thời nhàn rỗi trong nền kinh tế và phân phối chúng cho các nhu cầu đầu tư, sản xuất kinh doanh và các nhu cầu khác của doanh nghiệp và cá nhân, tổ chức trong nền kinh tế theo các nguyên tắc tín dụng.
Nhu cầu vốn đầu tư ngày càng tăng của nền kinh tế cũng tương đương với việc huy động vốn của các Ngân hàng thương mại phải được tăng cường, mở rộng cho phù hợp. Mặt khác việc tăng cường huy động và sử dụng vốn hợp lý cũng giúp cho hoạt động kinh doanh của Ngân hàng được an toàn, hiệu quả hơn.
Việc huy động vốn cho kinh doanh trong tương lai chắc chắn sẽ được đặt lên hàng đầu đối với các ngân hàng thương mại và NH TMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín cũng không là ngoại lệ. Vấn đề tìm ra những giải pháp để hoàn thiện công tác huy động vốn là rất thiết thực và cấp bách.
Nhận thức được tầm quan trọng đó, với những kiến thức đã học ở trường, cùng với những kiến thức thu nhận được trong thời gian thực tập, tìm hiểu tình hình thực tế tại NHTMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín vừa qua, em đã mạnh dạn chọn đề tài: “Nâng cao hiệu quả huy động vốn tại ngân hàng TMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín PGD KCN Tân Bình” làm báo cáo thực tập cho mình.
2. Mục tiêu nghiên cứu của đề tài
- Nghiên cứu cơ sở lý luận về hiệu quả huy động vốn của NHTM.
- Phân tích, đánh giá thực trạng hiệu quả huy động vốn của Ngân hàng TMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín PGD Khu công nghiệp Tân Bình- chi nhánh Tân Phú.
- Đề xuất các giải pháp nhằm nâng cao hiệu quả huy động vốn tại Ngân hàng TMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín PGD Khu công nghiệp Tân Bình chi nhánh Tân Phú.
3. Phương pháp nghiên cứu của đề tài
Các phương pháp chủ yếu được sử dụng trong quá trình nghiên cứu là thống kê, tổng hợp, phân tích, so sánh, điều tra, chọn mẫu,...
4. Đối tượng và phạm vi nghiên cứu của đề tài
- Đối tượng nghiên cứu là hiệu quả huy động vốn của Ngân hàng thương mại trong nền kinh tế thị trường.
- Phạm vi nghiên cứu là hiệu quả huy động vốn tại Ngân hàng TMCP Sài Gòn Thương Tín PGD Khu công nghiệp Tân Bình- chi nhánh Tân Phú thời gian từ năm 2010 đến nay.
