Khảo sát của các công ty nghiên cứu thị trường như Nielsen Việt Nam, FTA..., cho thấy, các mặt hàng dành cho trẻ đã tăng mạnh trong những năm gần đây.
Nếu tính chung các loại hàng hóa, dịch vụ giáo dục, y tế, giải trí... dành cho trẻ thì quy mô thị trường này lên đến hơn 5 tỷ USD/năm.
Một trong những lý do khiến thị trường dành cho trẻ có quy mô lớn và tăng trưởng mạnh vì Việt Nam là quốc gia mà hộ gia đình có trẻ em chiếm tỷ lệ cao nhất tại Đông Nam Á, trong đó, có đến 12% hộ gia đình có con dưới 1 tuổi và 20% hộ gia đình có con từ 1 - 2 tuổi.
