Huyện Lý Sơn thuộc tỉnh Quảng Ngãi miền Trung đang đóng 3 tàu đánh cá ngoài khơi 135 mã lực. Ba chiếc tàu này trị giá 2,4 tỷ đồng, trong đó 1,8 tỷ vay từ ngân sách nhà nước. 50 hộ đánh cá đang góp vốn và phương tiện để thành lập 3 cơ sở đánh cá ngoài khơi. Trong 2 năm qua, nhà nước đã đầu tư 7 tỷ đồng vào huyện đảo này để đóng 7 con tàu có công suất lớn.
