Trong số những người hiến máu lần đầu ở tuổi từ 18 - 60 tuổi, tỷ lệ người khỏe mạnh mang vi rút viêm gan B thay đổi theo từng địa phương, vùng, miền và dao động từ 15 - 25%. Tình hình nhiễm vi rút viêm gan B ở nhóm người khỏe mạnh và phụ nữ có thai tại Việt Nam cũng có tỷ lệ từ 10 - 20%. Đây là yếu tố quan trọng gây nhiễm vi rút viêm gan B ở trẻ em qua lây truyền mẹ con trong quá trình chuyển dạ đẻ và là nguyên nhân chính gây viêm gan mạn tính ở trẻ em.

Among the first blood donation in aged 18-60 years old, the proportion of healthy people who carry the hepatitis B virus vary by locality, area, domain and range from 15-25%. The situation of hepatitis B virus infection in healthy people and pregnant women in Vietnam also has rates from 10-20%. This is an important factor causing hepatitis B virus infection in children through mother-child transmission during labour and birth are the main cause of chronic hepatitis in children.

Among first-time blood donors in age from 18-60 years of age, the percentage of healthy people carry the hepatitis B virus vary by locality, regions and ranged from 15-25%. The situation of hepatitis B virus infection among healthy people and pregnant women in Vietnam has a rate of 10-20%. This is an important factor causing hepatitis B virus infection in children through mother to child transmission during labor and birth is a major cause of chronic hepatitis in children.
