Tất cả truyền động của robot đều từ động cơ điện. Trong đề tài này sử dụng 23 động cơ: 18 động cơ RC, 5 động cơ DC servo. Như chúng ta đã biết, động cơ điện là một thiết bị cơ khí nhằm chuyển đổi năng lượng điện thành chuyển động cơ học. Cấu tạo của các loại động cơ này đã được trình bày khá kỹ trong các tài liệu như sách giáo khoa và các tài liệu tham khảo, nên chúng em không đề cập ở đây. Trong chương này chúng em chủ yếu đề cập đến việc tính toán động cơ, thiết kế hệ thống điều khiển và nguồn năng lượng cho cung cấp cho các thiết bị trên robot để robot hoạt động tốt trong mọi điều kiện.
