Tại Việt Nam , theo báo cáo của WHO năm 2014, tổng số NB chết vì UT là : 91.600. Tỷ lệ NB nam giới chết vì UTĐTT là 5,2% ước tính khoảng 3026 ,Tỷ lệ NB nữ giới chết vì UTĐTT là 8% ước tính khoảng 2672 trường hợp [21].
