Background. Induction of childbirth is the initiation of artificial childbirth. World Health Organization (WHO) data in 2019 stated that about 810 women die every day due to complications of pregnancy and child birth. This study aims to analyze the risk factors for induction of childbirth at H.M. Djafar Harun Hospital, North Kolaka Regency in 2019.
Method. This study uses case-control study. The case group was patients who experienced induction of childbirth and recorded on medical records while the control group was patients who did not experience induction of childbirth and recorded in medical records. The sample count was 128 samples consisting of 64 case groups and 64 control groups. Sampling techniques using purposive sampling method. Bound variables are induction of childbirth and the free variables in this study are maternal age, gestational age, parity, premature ruptured amniotic and hypertension in pregnancy. Data is processed using Chi-Square and Odds Ratio tests.
Results. The results of bivariate analysis showed that maternal age variable is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth OR = 2,778 (CI95%:0,823-9,375), gestational age is not a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth with OR = 0.097 (CI95%:0,012-0.790), parity is a risk factor for the incidence of induction with OR= 0.097 (CI95%:0,012-0.790), parity is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth with OR=0.097 (CI95%:0,012-0.790), parity is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth with OR=0.097 (CI95%:0,012-0.790), parity is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth with OR=0.097 (CI95%:0,012-0.790), parity is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth with OR=0.097 (CI 1,350 (CI95%:0,630-2,892), premature rupture amniotic is a risk factor for induction of childbirth with OR=2,306 (CI95%:1,868-2,847) and hypertension in pregnancy is a risk factor for induction of childbirth with OR=1,187 (CI95%:0 ,376-3,749).
Conclusion. Conclusion of this study is maternal age, parity, amniotic rupture early and hypertension in pregnancy is a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth while gestational age is not a risk factor for the incidence of induction of childbirth at H.M. Djafar Harun Hospital North Kolaka Regency in 2019.
Keywords. Induction of childbirth, risk factors.
