Hello everybody, I'm Gam Nguyen from Vietnam. My major is in IT and services but I'm keen on social activities especially ones related to cultural or personal development. As an co-organizer of I Love Vietnamese project which providing free-of-charge Vietnamese language lessons to expatriates in Ho Chi Minh City, my main aim is to spread Vietnamese language and culture to all over the world. During this project I have chances to work with people come from many different countries and that opened my mind about the diversity of cultures. Also I have chance to challenge myself in leadership skills while working with Vietnamese volunteers to manage and run the project smoothly that made a good impression to the expats in Ho Chi Minh city. I also understand my weakness of a 'technician guy', I was not trained the essential skills in an international environment, so far I'm learning from real experience and improving myself day by day. Everyday my mind is occupied with ideas how to make things better but these things are still ideas once I don't know how to visual it by taking action. I strongly believe this program will enhance my knowledge and experience to a new level where I could learn new things from experts as well as speak my own voice to spread Vietnam culture. I'm a little bit sad when most of people only know about Vietnam by the war, but our country should be known much more than that. That is why I am here to represent for new generation of Vietnamese who is enthusiasm to develop the country, to bring a new image of Vietnam to the world. We all know that there are many challenges ahead and our mission is to put our hands together to make a significant affects to the community. To me the attitude is the most important thing to determine our success or failure. I myself commit to give my time, my young energy and my all knowledge and experiences that I have received during the program to make a better Vietnam.
